The L2D2 consortium was pleased to see its expertise represented at IMEC20 (Israel Materials Engineering Conference), held in Jerusalem on 25–26 February 2025, bringing together academia and industry across the materials community.
As part of the conference programme, Prof. Doron Naveh (Bar-Ilan University) participated as an invited speaker in the 2D Materials session with the talk titled: “Exploring Nonlinear Phenomena in the Photoconductivity of Two-Dimensional Semiconductors.”
The title highlights a theme that is increasingly important for next-generation optoelectronics: how 2D semiconductorsrespond to light in ways that aren’t always “linear” or proportional. In practice, “nonlinear photoconductivity” points to regimes where illumination can trigger complex conductivity changes (for example, depending on intensity, timescales, or device conditions), which is highly relevant for understanding and engineering high-performance photodetectors and other light-responsive components based on ultrathin materials. This kind of fundamental-to-device insight aligns closely with L2D2’s broader mission of advancing practical pathways for 2D materials in scalable technology platforms.
